After a chilly Easter

Ma hope o ka Easter anu, ua hoʻonohonoho ʻia ʻo UK no kahi hoʻomehana koʻikoʻi ma ka lā 27 ʻApelila, me ka piʻi ʻana o nā mahana ma waena o ka ʻāina no ka hoʻonui ʻana i ka punawai.

After what is predicted to be a chilly Easter, there’s a wave of warmth to look forward to later in the month.

Brits can expect a return of warmer temperatures later this month, following a cold Easter bank holiday weekend, which could bring lows of -2C in some areas of the UK. While the country has recently enjoyed some spring sunshine, forecasters warn of a sharp drop in temperatures around Monday, April 21. This cold snap is set to affect large parts of northern Britain.

WX Charts forecasts that the Scottish Highlands will experience the lowest temperatures, with towns like Ullapool, Dingwall, and Gairloch possibly seeing -2C. Further south, areas such as Fort William, Inverness, and the Pennines are likely to experience temperatures between -1C and 0C, with freezing conditions also expected for northern Wales and parts of northern England, including Hexham and Carlisle.

However, there is good news on the horizon.

According to a new weather map from Netweather, temperatures are predicted to rise significantly just six days later, on Sunday, April 27. The forecast shows widespread highs of 14C to 17C across southern England, the Midlands, and parts of Wales.

Cities like London, Southampton, and Exeter could experience the warmest temperatures, ranging between 16C and 17C, while Cardiff, Birmingham, and Norwich are expected to see pleasant highs of 15C to 16C.

Even northern England and southern Scotland are expected to reach between 13C and 15C, while northern Scotland will be cooler, at around 10C.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for April 18 to 27 further supports the expectation of a more settled and warmer spell towards the end of the month.
