Singapore Airlines (SIA) is investing Forty -Five Million Dollar to enhance the customer experience at its home hub, Singapore Changi Airport. The airline will renovate its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges in Terminal 2 over the next two years, with the goal of providing an upgraded and seamless experience for its passengers. This investment, announced on 15 April 2025, will include renovations to both the First Class and Business Class SilverKris lounges, as well as a complete overhaul of the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.
The renovations are part of a larger effort by Singapore Airlines to maintain its commitment to delivering world-class service, building on the success of its existing lounges in Terminal 3. The phased construction process, which began in mid-April 2025, is expected to be completed by mid-2027. The expanded lounges will offer more space and an array of enhanced amenities to ensure an elevated experience for customers.
One of the most significant changes is the renovation of the First Class SilverKris Lounge. The upgraded lounge will feature a spacious layout with higher ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and increased seating capacity. The new lounge will offer live cooking stations serving a variety of popular Singaporean, Asian, and Western dishes. Customers will also be able to enjoy a premium bar experience, with barista-made coffee in the morning and a selection of signature cocktails in the evening. Additionally, the expanded self-service buffet will mirror the offerings available at the Terminal 3 lounge, allowing travelers to enjoy high-quality cuisine in a relaxed environment.
The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will see a 30% increase in space, providing travelers with more comfort and relaxation options. The newly designed lounge will feature quiet areas with recliners, ideal for passengers seeking a peaceful spot before their flight. It will also include a redesigned living room area, offering various seating options, such as wingback chairs, sofa seats, and productivity pods, catering to passengers who wish to work, dine, or rest. The lounge will have a newly expanded buffet offering both Asian and Western cuisine, and a full-service bar with freshly brewed barista-made coffee and cocktails.
The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double its capacity, with additional seating options including armchairs for lounging, workstations, and dining seats. Passengers will also benefit from new in-lounge amenities, including restrooms and shower suites. These features are designed to enhance comfort and provide travelers with the facilities needed to freshen up before their flight.
To minimize disruptions for travelers, the renovations will be carried out in phases. Construction on the new First Class SilverKris Lounge will begin on 15 April 2025, with expected completion by the fourth quarter of 2025. The Business Class SilverKris Lounge will undergo construction in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will be renovated starting in the first half of 2026.
This significant investment reaffirms Singapore Airlines’ commitment to offering an exceptional travel experience, ensuring that customers have access to premium lounges at one of the world’s busiest airports, Singapore Changi Airport. The phased renovation is part of a broader strategy to meet the evolving needs of Singapore Airlines’ passengers, providing them with world-class hospitality and premium amenities.
