Hoʻonohonoho ʻia ʻo Madhya Pradesh's New Umrikheda Eco-Tourism Site e lilo i wahi kiʻekiʻe loa no ka poʻe ʻimi huakaʻi a me nā mea aloha aloha.

Pōʻakahi, ʻApelila 14, 2025

ʻO Madhya Pradesh is set to become a key eco-tourism hub with the introduction of a new camping and trekking site at Umrikheda, located just 14 kilometers from Indore. This ambitious project, spearheaded by the Madhya Pradesh Ecotourism Development Board (MPEDB), is slated for completion by mid-April 2025 and promises to provide an immersive eco-tourism experience focused on environmental sustainability and local culture.

The Umrikheda site will offer three distinct trekking routes, each carefully designed to showcase different facets of the region’s rich natural landscape. From the dense woodlands and forest ecosystems to the vibrant flora and fauna, each trail is crafted to offer visitors an opportunity to connect with the environment while learning about the local biodiversity. This initiative marks the first of its kind in the Indore region, highlighting MPEDB’s commitment to enhancing eco-tourism and attracting environmentally conscious travelers.

Environmental sustainability will be at the forefront of the development, with the entire site designed to ensure minimal impact on the surrounding ecosystem. In addition to trekking, a variety of outdoor activities will be available, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in nature. The project also aims to involve local communities by offering traditional food experiences, providing an authentic taste of the area’s cultural heritage and sustainable living practices.

The three trekking routes will each highlight different environmental features: one will focus on exploring the forest ecosystem, another will delve into the unique woodlands, and the third will offer a closer look at the local plant and animal life. These routes will ensure that visitors not only engage in physical activity but also gain a deeper understanding of the region’s ecological significance.

Incorporating local communities into the project is another key element of the Umrikheda eco-tourism site. Local residents will be involved in the operation of the site, offering traditional dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. This initiative will allow visitors to experience the region’s food culture while supporting sustainable farming practices. Additionally, the involvement of local communities will foster a stronger connection between visitors and the region’s cultural and environmental values.

With the completion of the project expected by mid-April 2025, the Umrikheda eco-tourism site is set to become a prominent destination for travelers seeking an eco-conscious retreat. By offering a unique blend of adventure, cultural immersion, and sustainability, the site will not only attract tourists but also promote awareness of the importance of preserving Madhya Pradesh’s natural resources.
