A French tourist has issued a caution to international travelers considering long-distance train journeys across India, emphasizing the need for preparation or a willingness to spend more for comfort

In a recent 43-minute YouTube video, content creator Victor Blaho recounted his challenging 46-hour train itinerary that took him through Mumbai, Varanasi, Agra, and New Delhi on a limited budget.

His route included a 25-hour train from Mumbai to Varanasi, followed by a 15-hour trip to Agra, and a final leg to Delhi. During his journey, he traveled in different classes ranging from general and sleeper to AC second class.

Blaho documented a number of difficulties throughout the experience. He encountered issues retrieving change from a vendor in an AC compartment and faced discomfort in sleeper class, where his seat was occupied while he briefly stepped away.

He also highlighted the poor hygiene conditions on some of the trains, including visible food waste, rodents, and insects within the coaches.

While India’s rail network is recognized for its wide coverage and budget-friendly fares, it continues to face scrutiny over cleanliness standards and punctuality.

The video has attracted significant attention online, sparking broader discussions about infrastructure quality, traveler expectations, and the varying experiences of international tourists on budget travel in India.
